Child Safeguarding Policy
At ecoPASS Driving School, the safety and well-being of children and young people are of paramount importance to us. This policy outlines our commitment to creating a safe environment for all individuals involved in our driving programs.
1. Purpose and Scope:
The purpose of this policy is to safeguard children and young people who participate in driving lessons provided by ecoPASS Driving School. This policy applies to all employees, instructors, volunteers, and contractors associated with ecoPASS.
2. Principles:
- Children and young people have the right to be protected from all forms of harm and abuse.
- We are committed to promoting the welfare of all children and young people, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- The welfare of children is paramount in all our activities, decisions, and interactions.
- We recognise that some children and young people may be more vulnerable due to various factors, and we are committed to providing additional support as needed.
- Collaboration with children, young people, their families, and relevant agencies is essential in safeguarding their welfare.
3. Commitments:
ecoPASS is committed to:
- Providing a safe and secure environment for children and young people participating in driving lessons.
- Implementing policies and procedures to safeguard children and young people from harm and abuse.
- Ensuring all employees, instructors, volunteers, and contractors receive appropriate training and support in child safeguarding.
- Promoting awareness among children, young people, their families, and staff about safeguarding issues and procedures.
- Taking immediate and appropriate action in response to safeguarding concerns or disclosures.
- Working in partnership with relevant agencies and organisations to address safeguarding concerns and provide necessary support to children and young people.
- Reviewing and updating our safeguarding policies and procedures regularly to ensure they remain effective and compliant with legal requirements.
4. Reporting Procedures:
- Any concerns or disclosures regarding the safety or welfare of a child or young person must be reported to the designated Safeguarding Officer at ecoPASS.
- The Safeguarding Officer will follow established procedures for reporting and managing safeguarding concerns in accordance with legal requirements and best practices.
5. Training and Awareness:
- ecoPASS Driving School will provide regular training and awareness sessions on child safeguarding for all employees, instructors, volunteers, and contractors.

Staff will receive guidance on recognising signs of abuse, responding to disclosures, and following reporting procedures.

Instructors and Staff will gain verbal or written consent from learners or their guardians before taking and sharing images, particularly after driving test passes.
6. Review and Monitoring:
- This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains relevant and effective.
- Any updates or changes to the policy will be communicated to all staff, instructors, volunteers, and contractors.
By adhering to this policy, ecoPASS aims to create a safe and supportive environment where children and young people can learn and thrive.
